Marlon Brando on Happiness
Interview with Marlon Brando
Conducted by James Grissom
By Telephone
1990
Nothing is more threatening to others than your happiness or your success, both of which are rare and envied and fleeting. They can deal with beauty or wealth or carnal prowess with more ease--they can belittle or undermine those; question their sources. But if you have some peace and some satisfaction, they will come after you. Even family and so-called friends. It makes people into animals.
