Elia Kazan on Actors
Interview with Elia Kazan

The predominant emotion of all actors is fear: Total and mortal fear. They are terrified that they are without talent and will soon be without work. All of the time. The light--of attention, of worthiness, of innovation--is always moving away from them, and they run to get back into the center of this healing glow. Forgive them much, even as they drive you patently insane. They are worth the trouble, once you allow them to work, to create, to share.
